What is PDT?
Psychodynamic therapy gives you an opportunity to explore and reflect upon your inner and outer life together with your therapist. You are invited to seek a greater understanding of how your problems relate to you as a person and to your life story. The psychodynamic framework of object relations theory puts emphasis on the importance of our early relationships and life experiences. Through exploring your history you might gain a greater understanding of yourself today. We will help you create a lasting change that will lead you to greater wellbeing.
If you receive PDT through a referral the maximum number of sessions is 25 + one follow up session. However, if you are a private client the number of sessions is unlimited. You and your therapist will make a treatment plan that sees to your needs.
What is CBT?
CBT is an umbrella term referring to theories concerning cognition and behavior. CBT can be likened to a toolbox, making it possible to customize the treatment to your specific needs. You and your therapist will make a treatment plan that sees to your needs. New methods in CBT that we offer include Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness and Compassion focused therapy (CFT). A common factor among CBT methods is a high level of structure, clear goals and an active therapist. The focus is mainly on identifying and finding new attitudes towards thoughts, feelings and values, as well as making behavioral changes. This creates an opportunity to find new ways of relating to your problems and to get your life moving in the direction you want it to.
We offer CBT in two different lengths, called CBT-long (KBT-lång) and CBT-short (KBT-kort). If you receive CBT-long through referral the maximum number of sessions is 25 + one follow up session. For CBT-short the maximum number of sessions is 13 + one follow up session. For private clients there is no limitation to the number of sessions.
